WHERE I BEGIN TO PHOTOGRAPH

Many people ask me where I begin to photograph. So I will say here in this post that in fact it will be an ‘’ almost ” continuation of the previous post: In case you haven’t seen is here:

I started to shoot unpretentiously and as a hobby. Something I always wanted to do. Even today being an activity that I am passionate about, the responsibilities increase as we evolve and learn.

I started taking pictures of my girlfriend (which is professional model and my favorite model, sorry!) 😊 and friends of mine who were always in need of photos for jobs and send model agencies and clients. So I did it with great pleasure. This is where I begin to photograph more and more.

Some photos I confess I didn’t like. Not because of the model, but because of my lack of knowledge about the equipment. Another thing that I had a lot of difficulty about was lighting.

My first most serious clicks happened in China around 2012, more or less. It was where I started to explore more places and people. Taking pictures where I went and seeing what worked best and what was cool.

I photographed from plants to people. I didn’t have much discretion. It was a good way to practice.

New York, USA

Everything got more serious when I improved my equipment and decided to focus 100%. So when someone asks me where I started shooting, I reply: In New York.

It was there that I had a much broader and extremely technical learning and knowledge. I had contact with photographers who have been in the market for more than 20 years and I was able to learn a lot in practice, on a daily basis and in the difficulty of dealing with various situations.

New York is a jungle. There you learn that it is good to always be prepared for what comes and if you are not able, you may not even have a second chance. It’s a big dog fight always.

Thinking about today, I don’t think New York is the best place to start. Unless you have a very favorable financial contribution… Because I will say, oh expensive city. hehe.

While I don’t think it is the ideal place, I oppose myself and say that the learning I had was incredible. So to sum up: Sometimes taking a blow to the head is good! 😉

Milan, Italy

When I moved to Milan in Italy, the blows I had taken in New York made me stronger, more stable and confident. They are completely different cities, but having lived in several countries, I had no difficulty adapting. He had even lived in Milan in the years 2016/17.

Well, this was my experience when I started and where I started shooting. Yours can be quite the opposite and everything is fine. The best place is actually the one you are in now! Photograph, make a lot of mistakes, allow yourself to be hit on the head, be willing and
